The Rattan kangaroo chair is inspired by the works of the Swiss architect Pierre Jeanneret who designed it in the 1950s for Chandigarh, India. French architect Joseph Dirand marvelled at their design and commented – “It’s so simple, so minimal, so strong…..Put one in a room, and it becomes a sculpture” – We couldnt agree more!

The Rattan Kangaroo chair is inspired by the works of the Swiss architect Pierre Jeanneret who designed it in the 1950s for Chandigarh, India which was the dream city planned by his cousin Le Corbusier. The city is located at the foothills of Shivaliks, and often exemplified as one of India’s great accomplishments in urban planning and contemporary architecture in the twentieth century.
The chair has become one of the most sought after mid-century contemporary design pieces in the world and a must have in any luxury home. They have somewhat become a token of status amongst celebrities including Kourtney Kardashian. Belgian designer Axel Vervoordt, gallerist Larry Gagosian and French architect Joseph Dirand have reserved a special spot for the chairs among their favourites.
